Stability shoes provide greater overall stability than neutral shoes. These shoes also help with overpronation. Therefore, they can be used by people with overpronation as well as runners who do not have this problem but are looking for shoes with a high level of stability. These shoes usually offer good to very good cushioning, which further increases comfort while running.
Who is it for?
The shoes in this guide are designed for everyday running on hard surfaces. They are often equivalent to the everyday training shoes in this guide. They should be the first choice for runners who:
- who run mostly on hard urban surfaces
- with excessive pronation (ankles turning inward)
- looking for a shoe for slow, easy training
- weighing up to about 90 kilograms
- looking for very high comfort and softness underfoot

Overview of shoes with stabilization
adidas Supernova Solution 2

A classic and versatile “pronator’s shoe” from adidas. Similar to the Supernova Rise model, but designed primarily for those seeking greater stability or suffering from overpronation (inward rolling of the feet). The midsole features both soft Dreamstrike+ foam and hardened foam rods. It is also a running shoe with a highly grippy outsole made of Continental rubber.
- Stack height: 36/29mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 292g men’s, 242g women’s
- Regular price: 150 EUR
Asics GT-2000 13

The Asics GT-2000 13 is a well-cushioned and versatile shoe for everyday running. The midsole uses FF Blast+ foam combined with a PureGEL element under the heel. A 3D Guidance system has also been used on the medial side of the midsole to increase stability by supporting the natural position of the foot and reducing overpronation. Designed for runners weighing up to approximately 85 kilograms who are looking for a shoe with both very good cushioning and overpronation control.
- Stack height: 36/28mm
- Drop: 8mm
- Weight: 279g men’s, 235g women’s
- Regular price: 160 EUR
Asics Gel-Kayano 31

The Asics Gel-Kayano 31 is one of the most famous models of running shoes with stabilization. It is characterized by exceptional comfort and the highest level of cushioning thanks to the use of FF Blast+ foam and PureGEL technology. Thanks to advanced cushioning, these shoes are ideal for runners weighing up to 100 kilograms. The 4D Guidance system ensures safety, foot stability and reduction of overpronation. Although not the cheapest option, it offers cushioning, stability and safety at a very high level.
- Stack height: 40/30mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 305g men’s, 266g women’s
- Regular price: 200 EUR
Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24

Adrenaline 24 is the twin of the popular Ghost training shoe. It features DNA Loft v3 foam cushioning, perfect for runners weighing up to 85-90 kilograms. It also features the GuideRails system, which takes the form of raised edges on the midsole. This not only provides support for overpronation, but also significant stability and ankle protection. This model offers extremely versatile stabilization, suitable for both overpronators and those with neutral feet. What’s more, this shoe is equipped with a deep (for asphalt shoes) and grippy outsole, making it an extremely versatile running shoe.
- Stack height: 35.5/23.5mm
- Drop: 12mm
- Weight: 283g men’s, 249g women’s
- Regular price: 150 EUR
Brooks Glycerin GTS 22

Maximum cushioning and stability from Brooks. Twin of the Glycerin model (without GTS). Very high cushioning based on a new generation of DNA Tuned foam with two different densities. Definitely softer than the Adrenaline GTS model presented above and one of the softest and most cushioned shoes for pronators on the market. It will work well even for runners weighing up to 100 kilograms. The stability in this model is delicate and, similar to the Adrenaline, is based on ensuring overall foot stability by raising the edges of the midsole, i.e. GuideRails.
- Stack height: 38/28mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 289g men’s, 252g women’s
- Regular price: 180 EUR
Hoka Arahi 7

Hoka, a brand synonymous with maximalism, also has a shoe for runners looking for more stability in its lineup. It’s the Arahi model. In addition to cushioning in the form of stiffer foam on the medial side of the shoe, it has everything that Hoka is famous for: plenty of cushioning, a boat-shaped midsole for a smooth transition, and slightly raised edges for added stability. Lightness is also important. This is one of the lighter shoes in the shoe guide.
- Stack height: 34/29mm
- Drop: 5mm
- Weight: 281g men’s, 229g women’s
- Regular price: 150 EUR
Hoka Gaviota 5

The most powerful combination of maximum cushioning and stability. The Gaviota model is designed for the heaviest runners and those covering the longest distances. Its additional advantage is greater control over overpronation, which makes it particularly recommended for people with a tendency to roll their ankles. This model is an excellent choice for those who need maximum cushioning, stability, and pronation control, but not necessarily dynamics. It is the perfect shoe for easy mileage.
- Stack height: 31/26mm
- Drop: 5mm
- Weight: 322g men’s, 265g women’s
- Regular price: 170 EUR
Mizuno Wave Inspire 21

A model from a brand that has stability in its blood, as it results from the construction of the flagship element of these shoes. We are talking about the Wave system, which takes the form of a Pebax plate placed between two layers of soft Mizuno Enerzy foam. The foam provides very soft cushioning (even for runners weighing up to 90 kilograms). The plate, which also provides some additional cushioning, acts as a stabilizing element. It stiffens the rear part of the shoe, ensuring stability, and by reinforcing the plate on the medial side, it additionally stabilizes overpronation. I often describe this model by saying that it holds the heel not only around it, but also from below.
- Stack height: 36/24mm
- Drop: 12mm
- Weight: 305g men’s, 245g women’s
- Regular price: 160 EUR
New Balance 860 v14

In this model, 800 means a high (almost maximum on a scale of 1,000) level of cushioning, while 60 indicates the stability of the shoe. Although this model, like the neutral 880, does not stand out particularly in the lineup, it offers exceptional comfort thanks to the large amount of Fresh Foam X foam in the midsole. This translates into excellent cushioning and stability in case of overpronation. Although, apart from the foam, it is difficult to see any innovations in it, this model successfully fulfills its task, providing support and comfort during everyday training. Its solid construction makes it an option for runners looking for reliability in all situations.
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 309g men’s, 243g women’s
- Regular price: 160 EUR
New Balance Vongo v6

The best cushioned New Balance shoe for those looking for increased stability. Based on Fresh Foam X foam, known from such “max-cushioned shoes” as 1080 and More. However, Vongo is a max-cushioned shoe with stability. A shoe for the heaviest runners who are looking for a shoe that is both lightweight and supportive. It is also a shoe with fairly flexible overpronation support, which can be used by runners with neutral feet.
- Drop: 6mm
- Weight: 303g men’s, 243g women’s
- Regular price: 180 EUR
Nike Zoom Structure 25

The Nike Structure is the only model in the brand’s lineup designed for runners with overpronation. It is based on Cushlon 3.0 foam, supported by a gas cushion in the forefoot for dynamic yet stable cushioning. The shoe is similar in construction to the Pegasus, but offers additional support while maintaining its versatile character. It is designed primarily for everyday training and for individuals weighing up to approximately 80 kg.
- Drop: 8mm
- Weight: 322g męski, 263g damski
- Regular price: 130 EUR
On Cloudflyer 5

The Cloudflyer is the first stabilizing model from the Swiss brand On. It is designed to provide both cushioning (but not too soft) and a touch of dynamism. The sole combines the softness of foam with On’s signature mechanism – holes in the sole flex slightly, resulting in a smooth and natural roll of the foot. The TPU Speedboard in the midsole provides a touch of dynamism and supports rebound. The stability in the Cloudflyer is subtle – sufficient for those with slight overpronation, yet versatile enough to suit neutral runners looking for a more stable shoe in the On family.
- Stack height: 31/21mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 300g męskie, 257g damskie
- Regular price: 180 EUR
On Cloudrunner 2

On’s second offering for overpronators is the Cloudrunner 2. This shoe is designed exclusively for comfort and softness, not necessarily for dynamics. It is primarily intended for runners with a slight overpronation who are looking for support and stability. Stability is provided by increased heel support, which means that, like the Cloudflyer, it can be used by people with neutral feet. In terms of softness, it is the optimal choice for people weighing up to about 80 kilograms.
- Stack height: 31/21mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 290g męskie, 230g damskie
- Regular price: 160 EUR
Salomon DRX Bliss 2

Salomon asphalt shoe with stabilization. This is provided by the ActiveChassis element, which takes the form of two “rails” at the junction of the midsole and upper (the large orange element on the sides). These limit unwanted sideways movement of the foot, both outward and inward. This creates a very versatile construction suitable for both overpronators and neutral feet. In terms of cushioning, this shoe is designed for runners weighing up to about 90 kilograms.
- Stack height: 34/26mm
- Drop: 8mm
- Weight: 266g men’s, 222g women’s
- Regular price: 160 EUR
Saucony Guide 18

Saucony has the misfortune of always coming last in alphabetical shoe guides. It’s a shame, because this is probably the most dynamic shoe for everyday training for overpronators. The cushioning based on PWRRUN foam is substantial (for runners weighing up to about 80 kilograms), but not the best, and compared to other models in this guide, it seems to be the least soft shoe. This stiffness, combined with a slight contour, means that although (like the other models in this guide) it is a shoe for rather easy running, it is actually the most comfortable when running faster. A shoe for people who don’t like “muddy” shoes.
- Stack height: 35/27mm
- Drop: 8mm
- Weight: 272g men’s, 245g women’s
- Regular price: 150 EUR
