Brooks running shoes – lineup
If you look at the Brooks shoe line, the Adrenaline and Ghost are neck and neck in terms of cushioning. They are very similar in design, but there is one key difference-the GuideRail system. You won’t find it in the Ghosts because they are classic neutral shoes. Thanks to this solution, the Adrenaline offers additional stability, making it suitable not only for runners with neutral feet, but also for those with a slight overpronation. So you could say that the Adrenaline GTS is the Ghost with better foot support.

DNA Loft v3 foam cushioning
One change in this line of shoes is the material used for the midsole. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 uses one of Brooks’ softer foams – DNA Loft v3. This foam is saturated with nitrogen, which gives it a light, “spongy” structure that makes it not only soft, but also resilient. This ensures that every step is comfortably cushioned without feeling like you are sinking into the midsole.

There is 36 millimeters of foam under the heel and 24 millimeters under the forefoot. This is 4 millimeters more than the previous model, which means even better joint protection on longer runs. This level of cushioning places the Adrenaline GTS in the category of soft shoes, but not extremely plush. This means that the shoe is neither too soft to “sink in” nor too hard to be uncomfortable.
This makes the Adrenaline GTS ideal for runners weighing up to 90 kg, making their runs stable and comfortable. However, if you weigh more or are simply looking for even more softness, take a look at the Glycerin GTS, which takes cushioning to an even higher level.

Stabilization – universal GuideRail system
For several years now, stability in the Adrenaline GTS has been based on the GuideRail system – a stiffer rim along the edge of the midsole that acts as a protective barrier for the foot. It is thickest around the heel, as heel stability translates into better control of the entire foot. Interestingly, GuideRail is not symmetrical – it is higher on the inside of the shoe than on the outside, similar to solutions used in other stabilizing shoes.
In practice, this technology works well for more than just overpronators. If you have a neutral rollover, GuideRail simply helps keep your foot in a straight line. If your foot tends to roll sideways, the system gently limits that movement without forcing an unnatural correction. However, it is important to remember that no amount of built-in stabilization in a shoe will solve the problem of over-pronation – it can reduce it, but if the over-pronation is very severe, custom orthotics are the best solution.

Deep outsole for a city shoe
The outsole of the Brooks Adreanline GTS 24 is made up of many rubber elements with a fairly deep, maximum 2.5mm texture. This model is designed primarily for running on hard surfaces and sidewalks, but its outsole can also handle off-road terrain such as compacted forest trails or gravel paths. This is not a shoe for demanding, technical trails, but thanks to the relatively deep texture of the outsole, it will provide decent grip on varied terrain. In addition, the large amount of rubber makes the midsole durable, and the numerous cross cuts increase its flexibility.
This is a classic city shoe that can handle less obvious conditions with ease. This is what makes it so versatile.

Classic soft upper
The upper is made of technical mesh that conforms to the foot. The outer layer has strategically placed ventilation holes for better airflow, while the inner layer is smooth and comfortable to wear. The tongue is also soft, spongy and hugs the foot comfortably. In true Adrenaline fashion, it is plush and comfortable.
When it comes to the interior of the shoe, the changes are minimal. Measurements show that the previous edition was 105.0 millimeters wide at its widest point, while the latest version is 104.3 millimeters. In practice, the difference is almost imperceptible, but it is also worth remembering that the fit of running shoes is a highly individual matter.

In true Brooks fashion, the back of the shoe is a real comfort zone – lots of soft, spongy padding wraps around the heel for a comfortable fit. This is one of the elements that has been in the Adrenaline for years, and nothing has changed in the latest edition. Beneath the soft, plush upper is a solid, stiffened heel counter. It has a classic “wedge” shape that wraps around the heel and plays as important a role in stability as the GuideRail system. Thanks to this, the Adrenaline has been famous for its foot support for years. If you liked the support and fit of previous editions, the latest version will not disappoint! However, because it is built on a different foam base, it is not identical to its predecessor.
Very standard weight
According to the manufacturer, the men’s version of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 weighs 283 grams, while the women’s version weighs 249 grams. In my size 12 US, the shoes weigh 320 grams, which is right in line with the average weight of the models tested on the blog. This is also slightly less than the average for stability shoes, which is 338 grams. In other words, the Adrenaline GTS 24 is a shoe that weighs exactly what it should. It is not overly light, but it does not weigh down the foot either.

Summary
The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 is a model that has been redesigned. The biggest change and benefit of this shoe is the DNA Loft v3 foam cushioning, which provides a soft feel without sinking. The GuideRail system supports the foot, making it suitable for both overpronators and neutral runners. In addition, the plush upper, soft tongue and generous padding around the heel make these shoes exceptionally comfortable from the moment you put them on. The cons? Its reliability in everyday use makes it hard to find any dynamism. If you’re looking for shoes that combine comfort, support and versatility for everyday running, the Adrenaline GTS 24 won’t disappoint.
