The adidas running shoe lineup includes many different constructions. The Supernova line is the basis for training shoes for hard surfaces. It includes three models of shoes. Each has a slightly different profile and parameters. There is also the 4D concept, which is a shoe with a midsole made using 3D printing technology. We have the powerful Adistar and the best of adidas running shoes – the fast Adizero line.
Traditionally, running shoes for hard surfaces can be divided into:
- training shoes – designed for everyday running, making them comfortable and durable during regular training sessions,
- racing shoes – designed for fast training and competitions, offering lightness and dynamics, ideal for intense running and achieving the best results.
Training running shoes
Training shoes are designed mainly for slow and easy running on streets, sidewalks and paved roads. They are ideal as everyday running shoes, and if necessary, they will also perform well in street competitions or faster training sessions. If you are looking for a versatile pair of running shoes, one of these models will be just right for you.
adidas Adistar BYD

For those looking for a combination of maximum comfort, support and dynamics, adidas has created the Adistar BYD, whose name is short for “beyond.” This model is distinguished by the presence of a Distance Drive carbon fiber plate, which provides exceptional energy return while running. The plate is surrounded by two foams – REPETITOR 2.0 and advanced Lightstrike Pro, which ensures a very high level of cushioning and softness. In addition, the shoe has been equipped with a grippy outsole made of Continental rubber, which ensures confidence on various surfaces. The Adistar BYD is an excellent choice for runners looking for versatile footwear that combines great cushioning, impressive dynamics and solid stability, ideal for everyday training.

adidas Ultraboost 5X

The latest edition of the Ultraboost 5X has undergone significant changes. The main difference is the even greater amount of Boost Light foam, which has increased the softness of the new Ultraboosts. The cushioning is sufficient even for the heaviest runners and those who prefer the highest level of comfort. In addition, the shoe has one of the most distinctive uppers, constructed in the form of a flexible sock that perfectly adapts to the shape of the foot. As a result, the shoe is not necessarily suitable for people with wide feet, but it makes for a perfect fit on standard and narrow feet.
- Stack height: 39/29mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 275g men’s, 237g women’s
- Regular price: 180 EUR
adidas Adistar 3

Adistar 3.0 is another addition to the adidas running shoe range, which stands out with its modern design and advanced technology, but does not use a carbon fiber plate. This model is equipped with the second generation of REPETITOR foam, known as REPETITOR 2.0. The shoe offers exceptional softness and bounce, making running extremely comfortable. At the same time, this softness can have an almost “lazy” effect. It is also worth noting its rigid construction, which makes it stable, and the subtly contoured midsole, which facilitates a smooth transition from heel to toe. This combination makes the Adistar 3.0 a solid choice for runners looking for a high level of comfort and support in their daily training.
- Drop: 6mm
- Weight: 320g men’s, 270g women’s
- Regular price: 140 EUR
adidas Supernova Prima

New to the adidas running shoe lineup and the softest and best-cushioned shoe in the Supernova line, the adidas Supernova Prima is built on a very large Dreamstrike+ foam base, which provides cushioning and a bit of bounce. Support Rods, i.e. hardened foam rods, are responsible for improving dynamics and efficient rolling of the shoe. The whole is topped off with a smooth but fairly grippy outsole and a classic, comfortable upper. At the moment, it is the best-cushioned shoe in the brand’s lineup, suitable for runners weighing up to 100 kilograms.
- Stack height: 39/31mm
- Drop: 8mm
- Weight: 292g men’s, 240g women’s
- Regular price: 170 EUR
adidas Supernova Rise 2

The latest offering for everyday runners, the adidas Supernova Rise 2. It uses soft Dreamstrike+ foam and hardened foam rods. In practice, this means that the shoe is extremely soft and comfortable. What’s more, it is also more dynamic and significantly lighter than its predecessor, which is definitely a positive change. It is a new but very interesting option for runners looking for a versatile training shoe for everyday running.
- Stack height: 36/26mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 284g men’s, 242g women’s
- Regular price: 150 EUR
adidas Supernova Solution 2

This model is the twin counterpart of the Supernova Rise, but is primarily intended for those seeking greater stability or suffering from overpronation (inward rolling of the feet). The midsole features both soft Dreamstrike+ foam and hardened foam rods. The Supernova Solution is one of two stability shoes available in the adidas lineup, alongside the Adistar CS. However, the Solution offers significantly less stability than the Adistar CS. This shoe is a versatile choice for everyday training for people weighing up to about 80-85 kilograms.
- Stack height: 36/26mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 292g men’s, 242g women’s
- Regular price: 150 EUR
adidas Supernova Stride 2

The third model in the Supernova series, it has slightly lower cushioning than the other two. It offers sufficient cushioning for runners weighing up to about 80 kilograms who are not looking for a very high degree of softness. It’s a good choice for people who don’t know which adidas running shoes are best for them. The Supernova Stride is a shoe that will suit those looking for their first serious pair of running shoes without breaking the bank.
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 268g men’s, 213g women’s
- Regular price: 110 EUR
Shoes for competition
Racing shoes are shoes designed for competition (not for starting your running adventure) and for fast training sessions. These shoes are designed with speed in mind – they are lightweight, responsive and dynamic.

adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1

Pro Evo 1 is the flagship running shoe from the Adizero line, representing the pinnacle of adidas’ racing and training and competition footwear. Designed for long-distance races such as marathons and half marathons, it features an ultra-lightweight construction and advanced technology. Its midsole, based on Lightstrike Evo foam, makes it extremely responsive, making it the perfect choice for experienced runners looking to reach maximum speeds. The Pro Evo 1 offers exceptional dynamics and optimal efficiency to help you set new records. However, this lightness and responsiveness comes at the price of a short lifespan of around 200 kilometers.
- Stack height: 39/33mm
- Drop: 6mm
- Weight: 138g
- Regular price: 500 EUR
adidas Adizero Adios Pro 4

The crème de la crème of adidas racing shoes. The fastest adidas running shoe for advanced runners, primarily for marathon distances. The midsole is a four-centimeter blend of very soft and springy Lightstrike PRO foam with carbon Energy Rods, giving these shoes a dynamic feel and a truly explosive rebound. All this in a very lightweight form weighing only 200 grams. A shoe for the fastest marathon runners and those who aspire to be one. The slower you run, the less you will feel the dynamics of this shoe.
- Stack height: 39/33mm
- Drop: 6mm
- Weight: 200g
- Regular price: 250 EUR
adidas Adizero Prime X 2

Prime X is a shoe that, by design, exceeds the standards set by World Athletics. This means that results achieved in it are invalid under current regulations and are not recognized. Technically, however, it is a marvel. With Lightstrike PRO foam. With Energy Rods that add dynamics. With an innovative Strung upper that resembles a cocoon. A shoe whose solutions will benefit the fastest runners. In theory, it is a great training shoe for fast training and tempo runs for those who run in Adios Pro 3 shoes on a daily basis.
- Stack height: 50/41mm
- Drop: 9mm
- Weight: 284g
- Regular price: 300 EUR
adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 10

The third musketeer alongside Prime X and Adios Pro. The lowest one, with the least amount of Lightstrike PRO foam. The least soft, which makes it slightly less springy and cushioned. Nevertheless, it is still incredibly dynamic and designed for shorter distances than the Adios Pro. It is ideal for street runs of five and ten kilometers. It is also a shoe for advanced and the fastest runners. The slower you run, the less the shoe will give you, and there is no point in wearing it for jogging at 5’00/km.
- Drop: 6mm
- Weight: 200g
- Regular price: 200 EUR
adidas Adizero Boston 13

This is the most versatile training and competition model in the adidas lineup. Its midsole combines soft Lightstrike PRO foam with slightly stiffer Lightstrike foam. This provides decent cushioning — not overly soft, but sufficient for everyday running and for lighter, faster runners (e.g., running 10 km in around 40 minutes). The midsole also has fiberglass rods that improve roll and add dynamics to the shoe. It strikes a good balance between comfort during training and support during fast competition running.
- Stack height: 37/30mm
- Drop: 6.5mm
- Weight: 260g men’s, 219g women’s
- Regular price: 160 EUR
adidas Adizero Adios 9

Something for those who like classics, because it is a direct continuation of the good old (non-carbon) Adios. Not too soft, which makes it primarily a shoe for shorter runs – 5 and 10 kilometers. The midsole features more resilient Lightstrike PRO foam in the forefoot for added softness and dynamics when the foot strikes the ground. Add to that a lightweight upper and a Continental rubber outsole, and you have nothing that could surprise a runner looking for a non-carbon, lightweight racing shoe.
- Stack height: 27/20mm
- Drop: 7mm
- Weight: 176g men’s, 142g women’s
- Regular price: 140 EUR
adidas Adizero Evo SL

This is the most basic model in the adidas “Fast” line. It’s perfect as a first running shoe or a lightweight training shoe at a good price. It is built entirely on Lightstrike PRO foam and lacks additional carbon or glass fiber reinforcements. This makes it very soft but sacrifices dynamics. Despite its sporty pedigree, it works well as an everyday running shoe.
- Stack height: 36/26mm
- Drop: 10mm
- Weight: 224g men’s, 188g women’s
- Regular price: 150 EUR
